Sharon Thayer, author of The Legend of Santa's Beard is coming back!! She is visiting the 2nd grade class on May 4th to present one of her new books as a trial run with kids (Yes, she loved our kiddos so much!). She is promoting her book called Wonderfully, Perfectly Unusual which teaches lessons on bullying.  The main character is a shark, and what a great way to kick off summer with those who love to read!  Attached is a flyer for those who would like to purchase one of her books or if you missed out purchasing during Christmas.

This month, second grade students are learning about hatching chicks. Over the course of 21 days, students can observe the eggs in the incubator.  They also participated in "candling" experiments, which allowed them to take a peek at the chicks’ progress inside the eggs. Mrs. Stevens will share more pictures and videos throughout the month.
