Mrs. Shadix’ Principles of Agriculture classes have been incubating chicken eggs over the last 21 days. During this time they have learned about proper humidity, proper temperature, types and kinds of chickens, different colored eggs, chick formation and growth and much more!
Today we opened the incubator and invited Mrs. LaGrone’s Pre-K class to join us in welcoming our new class pets! Our high school students were able to help the elementary students with naming the chicks and holding them!
A special thanks to Mrs. Jennifer Brown and Mrs. Kathy Porter for supplying the eggs to our class and to Mrs. Amanda Hailey for letting us borrow the awesome chick-house for our classroom!

Gary 4-H Meeting 9/19/22

A “Greenhand” is a first year member of the FFA. Each year in Principles of Agriculture students learn just what that means, how FFA can impact their lives and how to be active and successful Gary FFA Members through high school.
Today, student’s hands were “painted green” in honor of their beginning in FFA. They were asked to wear their painted hand throughout the day at school so that if/when they were asked about it, they could spread their knowledge about the FFA and being a “Greenhand.”

Tomorrow Gary ISD will be wearing orange in honor of Bristell Andrews who lost her battle with childhood cancer. Please help us show support for her families!

Tomorrow is the first blood drive of the year! Please come out and give blood to help our school reach our goal.

Parents, don't forget that tomorrow is picture day!!!

A few reminders for this week: we will wear maroon tomorrow to show our support for Uvalde as they return back to school, Wednesday is picture day and the blood drive!

On Tuesday, September 6, Gary ISD would like to support Uvalde ISD as the students return back to school. We would like everyone to wear maroon to show our support. https://5il.co/1hift
