Tomorrow, the Book Fair will be open at 7:00AM and will stay open until 6:00PM to allow parents to shop with their children before or after school!

On March 7th our Tennis team participated in a tournament at Spring Hill.
Corbin Arwine and Aubrey Kennedy won first place in the A division in mixed doubles.
Shaun Ritter and Makayla Woodfin won second place in the B division in mixed doubles.
Everyone played hard and got better as the day went on in a tough tournament!

The Book Fair is here! To celebrate, we encourage Elementary students to join us on the dress up days! We can't wait for all the fun!

Due to excessive rain, today's game at Harleton has been cancelled.
This non-district game will not be made up.

Mrs. Shadix’ Horticulture class and Mr. Seals’ Pre-Agriculture class began their raised garden recently. They planted potatoes before Winter Break and yesterday started squash.
There are so many great lessons that go into planting a garden- light, water and food requirements, planting spacing and depth, learning how to read and use the seed packet, fertilizer, soil temperatures and more!
We hope to be able to harvest these crops before school is out!

We bragged on our Basketball Boys, and now we need to brag on our Basketball Girls!

There will be a change in Friday's scheduled baseball game on Friday 3/10/23. The Bobcat baseball team will travel to Harleton for a varsity game beginning at 6:00. We will not play at LaPoynor as stated on the schedule. The JV game has been canceled for that day.

Next week, to celebrate the book fair event, the Elementary encourages students to participate in our dress up days! Check out the image for more details! Can't wait to see everyone in the pajamas starting on Monday!

We have more photos than we can possibly post from the event, but here's a special message from Mrs. Shadix about the Panola County Jr. Livestock Show;
After two years spent with some of these projects, down to four weeks with others, Gary students having projects in EVERY division at the show and over 86 Gary projects being shown , the RESULTS ARE IN!! Gary FFA and Gary 4-H would like to thank EVERYONE who helped us make last week possible! From the buyers at the sale, students who came to help set up, tear down, hang signs, help the photographer, work "swine security" and more! Thank you to the parents that were up at the barn with us at 5am and who didn't leave until we did at 9pm some nights! We could not have been as successful without your support! A livestock, ag mechanic or project fair entry is a way to teach students hard work, dedication and responsibility and MAN! Kody Hall, one of our 7th graders, won 2nd place in Woodworking for his awesome Ag project, but that isn't even the sweetest part of this story!
Kody, with the help of others, created this bench and dedicated it to Kelly Wallace's mother. While at the silent auction, she tried to make a bid for the bench, but was outbid by another gentleman. Normally, that would be the end. Another placed a higher bid, and they got the item, but this man, after realizing it was dedicated to Kelly's family, gifted it to them! We are proud of. Kody, and all of our students for participating in the Panola County Jr. Livestock Show, but we are especially proud of our community and the actions they provide to each other!

Gary ISD was well represented at the Panola County Jr. Livestock Show! We are proud of all of our students and staff who participated at this event!

Happy Maintenance Appreciation Day! Thank you Mr. John, Mr. JD, and Mr. Steve for all of your hard work to make our campus wonderful!

Gary HS OAP advanced in competition yesterday with picket fences! They received a 1 from every judge and got first place, with Brady Balfanz and Jesse Dodge earning top performer awards, Katie Thomas earning all-star cast, and Beka Smith earning an honor crew award! We are proud of the hard work this group of students, and their director Mr. Powell (and Mrs. Tate), are doing at Gary ISD! Can't wait to see their next contest performance at Panola on March 21st.

🥳 Just a reminder, tomorrow is an early release day with students getting out at 12PM, and there will be no school Friday! 🥳

Yesterday, our Tennis team participated at the Van ISD Tennis Tournament! Corbin Arwine won consolation in boys singles. Mason Powell and Makayla Woodfin were champions in mixed doubles. Brett Flowers and Katherine Philley won consolation in mixed doubles. We are proud of our athletes and can't wait to see what they do next!
