The Gary Leadership Development Teams, trained by Ms. Shadix traveled to the District LDE Contest on Tuesday, 11/7 to compete against *23* other schools from the Longview District. Teams had to be top *3* in their competitions to advance to the Area Contest on 11/15.
RESULTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
💙Greenhand Skills (Brannan Stevens, Brodey Seals, Hudson Ogg, Bradley Cope, Michael Kennedy)- 4th

These contests are one day, one shot contests and we are excited about their dedication and hard work to prepare! Some of these contests required students to memorize five paragraphs and recite them perfectly, some memorize 16 minutes scripts and present an agricultural skill to judges (a how-to), one presents a radio broadcast and are judged on their speaking abilities, and other promote agriculture in various ways. They are NOT easy!
Cool facts:
💛10 of these students competing are Freshmen!
💛Only 4 students have competed at these contests before!
💛Some of these students only had two weeks to learn their parts!
Great job Gary FFA Members!
