Our Culinary students are joining in the holiday cheer by creating icing and using it to decorate gingerbread houses!
Our annual Gary Basketball Tournament begins tomorrow and goes until Saturday, December 13th! The first games begin tomorrow at 9AM with our Gary Varsity boys playing against Corrigan-Camden in the HS gym, and the Timpson and Wells Girls teams over at the Elementary gym! Come out and cheer our teams on, and check out the current tournament brackets!
In early October, our 8th graders and our 12th graders participated in the Annual VFW Patriot's Pen and Voices of Democracy Essay contests. We would like to congratulate Madison Arnold (8th) for being selected at GISD for the Patriot's Pen, Katherine Philley (12th) for earning an Honorable Mention for the Voices of Democracy, and Hunter Brown for earning 3rd place for the Voices of Democracy!
We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow for our Festival of Lights on the Gary Square! There is a slight change of location for our first event; the Breakfast with Santa will now be held at the GISD Cafeteria at 9AM! All other Festival of Lights activities and vendors will still be held at the Gary Square!
Next week, on December 11th, our annual Gary Basketball Tournament begins! Our Class of 2028 are preparing for the massive event and plan to have all kinds of delicious goodies in the concession stand during the games! Check out the menu for more details!

Our annual Literacy Night happens tonight! We hope everyone can come stop by to listen to their teachers share their favorite stories, create a cute Christmas ornament, and enjoy some holiday themed treats! It all begins at the Elementary at 5:30PM and will last until 6:45!
Pictures with Santa will be taken on Tuesday, Dec. 9 from 8:30–10:30 a.m, check out the flyer for more details! The Santa pictured in the flyer will be the same Santa featured during that picture day.
Due to a conflict with the Little Dribblers basketball schedule, we are changing some of the performance times for the Festival of Lights. We hope this will allow as many as possible to come out to our wonderful event!

Yesterday, students from Mrs. Creech’s Floral Design class had the wonderful opportunity to decorate the Christmas tree in our High School commons area. They chose a theme that reflects and celebrates all thinks that make Gary ISD special, and they had a blast bringing it to life!
Our students loved playing such an important role in this project, and we can’t wait to enjoy this beautiful tree throughout the holiday season. ❤️✨

Our HS eSports team are playoff bound in Marvel Rivals this season! Round 1 begins today, from 4PM-6PM and you can check out the livestream at https://www.twitch.tv/gisdesports
There's still time to purchase tickets to our Breakfast with Santa for this Saturday at 9AM! Tickets are $10 for the first child, and $5 for each additional and forms can be dropped off at the Elementary front office!

This morning our Elementary Lighthouse students donated almost 2,000 non-perishable food items to Mission Carthage to help out those in need in Panola County! We want to thank all the Elementary students and their families, as well as our Sophomore class for donating so many items!
Parents, there was a situation that required an ambulance this morning at the high school. All of our students are safe and there is no emergency at this time.
